Uhg. Weight gain. Trying to undo a years worth of damage in a few months is hard work when you first start. Luckily, this isn't my first rodeo. I lost 70lbs after the birth of my child, and I also trained for a triathlon in 2010, so I got this.
Regimen: Insanity/10 mile bike ride/1 mile run. Everyday. 6 days a week.
Is this possible on the first day? Nope. The bike ride is necessary. That's how I get back and forth from the barn. This far I'm through the warm-up/stretch in Insanity, and about a 1/3 mile run (the rest walk.) By this time next month, I should be 100% in all categories.
Yep. I'm bringing sexy back.

Pic's!
Not bad, huh?
I was pleasantly surprised with what I've come back to. Rigsby is over 15hh and filled out in all the right places. His head has dried and his Egyptian lines are really showing. Lawrence Arabians really outdid themselves this time. Thanks April!

Did You Miss Me?
I'm still alive! What a year its been! Short version: I got offered a hella bartending gig in Williston, North Dakota. I made a lot of money, but due to employee shortages, I could never get my schedule consistent and I was going six weeks at a time, without seeing my horse. Finally, two weeks ago I finally had enough, said DEUCES, and walked off the job.
The horse I came home to: Big, the boss of his paddock and remembers me and most of his ground work.
No more fartin around. Lets do this!
Oh yeah...I um...gained 40lbs in Williston. Don't worry, I'm fixing it!
Its so good to be back! Pic's coming soon!

Good News/Bad News...
Bad news first.
I'm going to have to cut off quite of bit of Rigsbys mane, due to a paddock-mate using it as a serious chew toy. It's seriously so bad I can't even bring myself to take pictures, much less post any. I guess he'll be sporting the french braid/mane cover for the summer. Joy joy.
Now for the good news! My pony is grooooowing! His size 66 blanket, which I purchased in November and was almost dangerously too big for him, is now history. His sporty new purple rain sheet, SIZE 70, is on it's way!!! We're officially in horsie size!!! I haven't sticked him, but I estimate his height to be over 14.2. I have a horse!!

Is It Spring Yet????
Update: Horse ownership in the North Dakota winter is no joke. Day after day of either bitter cold compiled with biting winds, or high 20's, sunny and a melting boot sucking mess. Add in a 50+ hour work week, and that's a North Dakota winter.
We've made it out into the field a few times, but nothing of significant progress. Most of our time is spent currying in the stall or our late night rendezvous in the indoor, to help reduce his time in the stall (he still dislikes spending the night inside.) Needless to say, both of us are looking forward to Spring and dry land!

Crazy Holidays...
We're still alive (Rigsby and I).
The Christmas season is a busy time for an Olive Garden server/bartender/bitch. My horsey time has been limited to sneaking to the barn aound midnight to throw Rigsby some extra hay, grain and a few kisses.
Hopefully there will be more to talk about when 2013 rolls around!
Merry Christmas everyone! (even the Jews) ;)
